CLUBHOUSE CATERING CLUB OF THE YEAR - 2008

Rockmount Golf Club has been placed above many more famous golf courses in Britain & Northern Ireland to gain the coveted accolade of the “Catering Club of the Year UK 2008”.

The club recently won the award in the annual competition organised by the outstanding trade magazine “Clubhouse”.  A trophy and the title were presented to the Rockmount Golf Club General Manager Mrs Shirley Graham & Restaurant Manager Ms Brenda Gormley, at a special gala ball and prize giving ceremony at Mere Golf & Country Club, Cheshire.

It is the first time in the history of the awards that a Northern Ireland Club has taken the top honour. 

Mrs Shirley Graham says “The Clubhouse Awards 2008 are unique; the prestigious award for the golf industry is a great honour and here at Rockmount we have a great team of managers and staff of which we are very proud.”

Rockmount Golf Club was opened 13 years ago.  The Restaurant, which has established itself as a restaurant of excellence, is a popular dining place for lunches, snacks and that special evening meal.  The Golf Course has been cleverly designed to ensure that the land’s natural features are incorporated throughout the 18 holes and the undulating course offers a variety at every turn and is now rated as one of the top courses in Northern Ireland.

In the last 13 years Rockmount Restaurant has came top of the County Down league in the ‘We Care Gate to Plate’ Awards.  We were also one of the finalist in the Lisburn City Business Awards category ‘Best Licensed Eating Establishment, and we have also been awarded “The Taste of Ulster” 2008/2009 for Sourcing & Using Local Products.  In our restaurant we are now serving the award wining Glen Tender Beef, delicious mouth-watering Irish bred Aberdeen Angus Steaks.

At Rockmount Restaurant the menus include an extensive Vegetarian range and a Healthy Eating section, so there is no excuse for not eating out while shedding those extra pounds.  For those who don’t have to worry about any extra weight Rockmount’s desserts selection is sumptuous.

At Rockmount Restaurant you will experience a pleasant atmosphere, created by friendly and competent staff in a beautiful setting, but most importantly good food is well presented and freshly prepared on the premises by Head Chef, Nigel Brown and his team, who cater for, conferences, birthdays, anniversaries or any other special occasion.
